Frequently Asked Questions
Everything about the app, pronunciation scores, grades, privacy and the web version.
What is Let's Speak (İngilizce Konuş)?
A speaking-practice app that teaches correct pronunciation of English words. It presents the vocabulary of the Turkish grade 2–6 English curriculum with pictures, Turkish meanings and correct pronunciations, and scores the word you say into the mic from 1 to 10 instantly.
Is the app free?
Yes. İngilizce Konuş is free; no sign-up or account is needed and there are no in-app purchases.
Which grades are included?
Grade 2 (previous programme and Maarif Model), grade 3 (previous programme and Maarif Model), grade 4, and grades 5 and 6 (Maarif Model). In total 58 units/themes, 3,243 words and 5,061 questions.
Is the app in English?
The interface is in Turkish and every English word comes with its Turkish meaning, so it is designed for learners whose first language is Turkish. The English words, pictures and pronunciations are of course in English.
How is pronunciation scored?
You say the word into the mic; speech recognition produces a few best guesses. If your word matches the first guess you get 10 points, the second 9, the third 8. No match? Listen again and retry.
Does it work offline?
Words, pictures, listening, reading, quizzes and puzzles work offline — the content is inside the app. Speech recognition uses the internet by default; on Android you can turn on offline recognition in Settings (slightly less accurate).
Is there a web version? How is it different?
Yes, at speak.quansystem.com, with the same content. Pronunciation practice on the web depends on the browser (Chrome is needed), and the microphone setup wizard and offline recognition are Android-only. For the full app experience we recommend the mobile app.
Is there an iPhone (iOS) version?
There is currently no App Store version. iPhone and iPad users can use the web version at speak.quansystem.com in the browser.
The mic won’t start or doesn’t recognise my word. What should I do?
On Android open Settings → “Mikrofon kurulumu” (microphone setup): it checks the recognition service, the Google app, mic permission and the English offline pack, and fixes gaps in one tap. Speak in a quiet place, 15–25 cm from the phone, at a natural pace.
Do you collect personal data? Is my voice recorded?
No. There are no accounts and the app collects no personal data; progress stays on your device. The microphone is only used to turn the word you say into text; your voice is not stored by the app.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes. The interface is simple and designed for children to use comfortably. There is no chat, no user content and no account.
Why isn’t the correct answer shown after a mistake?
On purpose. Seeing the answer immediately makes memorising easy but learning weak. Cards shuffle every time; finding the right answer yourself on a retry makes the word stick.
Is the app made by the Ministry of Education?
No. İngilizce Konuş is an independent educational app with no official link to the Turkish Ministry of National Education. Its content draws on the primary and middle-school English curriculum vocabulary.
Who made the app?
İngilizce Konuş is developed by QuanSystem (Quantum System). You can reach us at [email protected].
I found a mistake in a word or meaning. How do I report it?
In the app go to About → “Bir yanlışımızı mı fark ettin?” (spotted a mistake?) → “Send correction email”, or write to [email protected].
Suggestions, questions, bug reports or a partnership for your school — we read every message.
